*New Policy Effective January 1, 2009* Registration Fee - When you sign up for a class at Nashoba Valley Dance Academy we assume that you have signed up for the school year unless you have notified us otherwise. We do understand that scheduling can be tough and understand if you take a session off. If you decide to take a session off we cannot guarantee that your spot will be held in class. When you decide to return to class you will need to re-register for the class and pay the registration fee. You must notify NVDA in writing if you choose to take a session off, otherwise we will assume that you will continue in class and your account will be billed.

Attendance: Attendance is important for each student to improve and grow as a dancer. Many absences will result in the student being placed in a lower level class. Please call NVDA and leave a message if your child will be absent from class.

Make Up Classes: Missed classes must be made up during the current session. They can be made up during other classes of the same or lower level at the discretion of the instructor.

Snow Days: NVDA does not necessarily follow the public school snow days. In case of inclement weather please call the studio to see if classes are still being held. If classes are cancelled make up classes will be scheduled.

Class Observation: Parents and guardians will not be permitted to enter the classroom with their children, as this proves to be distracting to the students. However, we do invite you to quietly peek through the doorway to view your child’s progress during any class.

Studio Etiquette: Students may not enter class late or leave early without permission of their instructor. Food, gum and smoking are not allowed anywhere in the building. Students are expected to be respectful of the studios and waiting areas and responsible for its tidiness. Students are also expected to be respectful of their instructor and fellow students. NO STREET SHOES ARE ALLOWED ON ANY STUDIO FLOOR.

Year-End Performance: Nashoba Valley Dance Academy's focus is technique. However, performing is a valuable part of a dancer's education. Therefore, each June the students of NVDA will present a year-end performance. This is optional and students are not required to participate in the performance in order to remain in class. Students who choose to participate in the performance are required to attend there regular classes for the 3 weeks prior to the performance. Participation in the performance requires the purchase of a costume (costs between $50 and $85).

Class Size: A minimum of 4 students is required in order for each class to run. If there are not enough students for a class it will be cancelled and those students will be placed in another class.
